Pack rats and mice
Pack rats and mice: close the way in first
Trapping without sealing only catches today's rodents. We do both, in that order. Pack rats and roof rats look for warm, sheltered places as nights cool, and mice need a gap barely wider than a pencil.
Roof and eaves
Roof vents, soffits and the gap above the garage door.
Pipes and wires
Openings in the stucco where pipes, wires and drains pass through.
Closets and attic
The attic hatch, the water-heater closet and the air-handler closet.
The garage and cars
Engine bays and stored boxes, if rats have been in the garage.
The order
Inspect, seal, trap, clean up
- 01
Step 1: Inspect
We find the openings and the likely nesting spots.
- 02
Step 2: Seal
Gaps closed with material rodents can't chew through.
- 03
Step 3: Trap
Traps set where the activity is, checked on a schedule.
- 04
Step 4: Clean up
We remove what they left, wearing the right protection.
Questions
Rodent questions
How much does pest control cost?
It depends on the pests, the size of the house and lot, and how many visits the plan has. After the first visit you get a written quote that lists the first-visit fee, the cost of each visit and the year's total. We don't quote a house we haven't looked at.
How long until I see results?
For most homes, ants and roaches slow down within a week or two, though it varies. Scorpions are different: they live in the desert around the house, so the goal is fewer sightings and sealed gaps, not none. Your report says what we'd expect and what to watch.
Do I need to be home?
For the first visit, yes if you can: you point out what you've noticed, and we walk the rooms with you. For later visits we treat the outside, and we ask you to unlock gates and secure pets. The blacklight walk happens in the yard, and we can do it with you or without you.
Hearing noises in the attic?
Call and describe where and when. We'll book an inspection.
