Scorpions
Scorpions: finding them after dark
Scorpions live in the desert around Valley houses. The aim is to see fewer of them inside and to close the ways in, not to promise a house with none nearby.
Most Arizona bark scorpions are active at night and climb stucco, block walls and trees. Under a blacklight they glow, so a short walk at dusk shows where they gather and which gaps they use. That is the step we added to the first visit.
What the blacklight walk covers
Block walls, wall caps and the base of the stucco
Gravel beds, wood piles and stacked pavers
Garage door seals, weep holes and pipe sleeves
Trees and shrubs that touch the roofline

Questions
Scorpion questions
Why do you come back after dark?
Scorpions are most active at night, and they glow under ultraviolet light, so a blacklight shows where they are. We walk the yard and the walls at dusk or later, by appointment, and mark what we find on your report. If we find nothing, the report says that too.
How long until I see results?
For most homes, ants and roaches slow down within a week or two, though it varies. Scorpions are different: they live in the desert around the house, so the goal is fewer sightings and sealed gaps, not none. Your report says what we'd expect and what to watch.
What about children and pets?
Licensed applicators follow the product label. We tell you which areas to keep children and pets away from, and for how long, and you can ask for our product list before we start.
